The traditional Catalan choice of cooking ingredients originally consisted of rice, milk, lamb, pork, seafood, and fowl.

They fry in accordance with a Mediterranean tradition using olive oil. Other traditional foods include; tomato bread, pasta, vegetables, fruit, yogurt, all cooked with moderate quantities of wine.
Interestingly, the Catalan people considered the digestion of an English diet rather hard.

In modern times of course, the food offered in restaurants has expanded to fulfil the taste buds of any tourist. A hearty English Breakfast is even available most of the year during the morning in the central Village Square. All Begur restaurants offer a wide variety of interesting and mouth watering local dishes.

A list of personally tried and recommended restaurants, as well as favourites of previous guests, is provided in a file at the Apartment.
